Leadership Training

Leadership Training

Do leaders need training?

Leaders make things happen. They are either born leaders, or developed along the way.

Leaders are the ones who do not ‘need’ training. They need coaching, mentorship, guidance, discipline and self-development. But they do not need training.

Development for leaders includes more focus on people, focuses on the future and long term objectives, growth, maximizing potential, tests courage, and emphasizes performance and people beyond their comfort zones.

Developing leaders increases their capability to be able to look at things with a different perspective, and think of the impossible. They start introspecting themselves, and looking at innovative solutions keeping in mind their team.

Training & Development Programs for leaders also surround them with other leaders, where they can also share best practices. Maybe there are growth opportunities that one wouldn’t have considered, or maybe there are business relationships one wouldn’t have fostered. The next level is about progress, and one of the ways to achieve it is by adding to ones’ existing skill sets.

Some basic characteristics of good leaders would include:

  • Compelling presence
  • Authenticity
  • Being articulate
  • Thinking on their feet
  • Humor when it’s needed
  • Flexibility
  • Integrity
  • Empathy
  • Leading by example

Most leadership training programs would work around the above characteristics and refine them in a way that they are easier to approach and implement.
